Agios Theodoros is a traditional picturesque village located around 25km Southwest of Larnaca. The village boasts an unparalleled location for touring as it is located in the centre of the island. Situated in a lush valley along the banks of the Pentashinos river, Agios Theodoros is unique, in that it offers stunning views of the mountains and yet is just a five minute drive from the sea. Agios Theodoros took its name from the Saint of the village, Agios Theodoros of Tyrona. Along the coastal road of the village you come across of the church of Saint Anargiron and the Three Children. The church of Holy Mary of Astathkiotissas can be found amongst the hills of Agios Theodoros and provides a perfect hiking destination; the church dates back to the 12th century and provides the visitor with a deep sense of peace and spiritualism. The village itself is filled with history and stunning traditional architecture, take a walk along the winding cobbled streets and you will see many friendly faces and warm locals eager to say hello and share their beautiful village with you. Agios Theodoros is also famous for its traditional taverns, serving meze and local specialities.
