1. The Winery
When you walk through ‘’Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’’ winery, you instantly feel a sense of completion. Built between ‘’Afamis’’ and ‘’Laona hills’’, the winery’s carefully looked after and private-owned vineyards are spreading as far as the eye can see.
‘’Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’’ winery combines high technology equipment with quality wine producing practices. The space of the winery is a lively factory where wine production is realized. Properly designed winemaking, bottling and tasting spaces are always ready to offer a unique experience, as each and every loyal friend of wine deserves to taste the flavours of Omodos’ countryside. The “heart” of production is housed in the underground space of the winery. The space houses all necessary, modern, equipment for the production of quality wines: crusher, pneumatic press with an inert gas application, special tanks for refermentation cryomaceration for white wine production, stainless fermentation tanks for red and white winemaking with an automatic temperature control system, oak fermentation barrels for red wines and stabilization tanks. Aiming at producing fine wines and making them available to the demanding public, ‘’Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’’ winery contributes to the history and continuity of zealous wine.
Under the motto “Honouring our heritage, continuing our tradition”, the winery comprehends and favours the connection of wine with culture, promoting both. History conferences and cultural events, school visits, educational tours and book publishing, all contribute to the promotion of Cypriot culture.
Overlooking the green slopes of the area, where the vineyards ripen, exploiting the special terroir of Omodos, ‘’Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’’ winery promises to entice you both to an unprecedented discovery of senses, as well as a unique cultural experience.
2. The Vineyards
Ktima (Estate) Vassiliades focuses on preserving Omodos’ tradition of wine, exploiting the unique altitude of the area that contributes significantly to the development of the vineyards. Having the Omodos’ terroir as a special ally, priority is given to the native varieties of Cyprus, such as Xynisteri, Maratheftiko, Giannoudi, while also exploiting international varieties, such as Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon.
Amphitheatrically planted vineyards spread their roots deep in white limestone soils in search of the most wanted moisture. Rocky soil is what ultimately offers the much sought-after mineral notes in wine. The fruit of highland vineyards is different from the rest, developing more tasteful flesh, rich structure and intense acidity.
Respecting traditional practices, the winery exploits linear structures, which facilitate the cultivation methods, as well as the traditional dry stone of Omodos, which prevents soil erosion. At the end of each summer, the vineyard, full of the daily care it has received, reciprocates the dedication of its growers with the blessed fruit – sometimes golden green and sometimes crimson – and, then, the valuable wine; a mountainous and sunny wine that hides the authentic fabric of Omodos’ land in a glass.
3. Tasting & Tours

Choose between the two packages we offer for guided tours and tastings in the specially designed premises of our winery. You will have the opportunity to purchase the exquisite wine produced by the winery’s resident artisan vintners. *
Group and individual tours and tastings daily, from Monday to Sunday, 10:00-18:00.
*The tour takes place at the winery premises and lasts between 30-45 minutes. It includes a tour of the winery and our vineyards, around the winery, and tasting.
4.  Playia Restaurant
In the vineyard-blessed Omodos village, grapes of exceptional quality are ripened with harmonious aromas and rich taste from antiquity. “Krasochoria” (wine villages) area has always been a meeting point of the Bacchic accompaniment of Dionysus, who taught the art of winemaking, offering ideal conditions for the development of vineyards. All this magic still takes place on the slopes of Omodos. Today, “Playia Restaurant” honours this ideal soil, as its name, “Playia”, meaning slope, is what gives Omodos its charismatic terroir.
Focusing on successfully matching contemporary local culinary culture with our fine wines, “Playia” Restaurant offers unique gastronomic experiences in a pleasant and elegant environment. Our executive chef promises to offer you exquisite taste experiences through the cellars of our winery.
