Vavla Rustic Retreat is your ideal destination for a quiet, rustic get-away into the countryside of a village steeped in culture, history and traditions. Situated at the very top of the village of Vavla, the panoramic view of the surrounding valley and mountainsides, accompanied by the peace and tranquility that surrounds you will simply take your breath away!

Our family-owned and run traditional stone village house was built in the late 1800s, and each apartment has its own remarkable story to tell. Equipped with all of the modern-day comforts, every effort was made to include some of the familys original household artifacts in each apartment, imparting an authentic atmosphere and sense of nostalgia in each room. All of the rooms surround a common courtyard which is filled with the sounds of nature the songs of the migratory birds, or the humming of the bees in the spring. And, if youre lucky you may even spot a chameleon, or have the opportunity to befriend one of the village cats.

A small bottle of wine from a nearby winery and seasonal fruit (when available) from our orchard is included in each apartment to welcome our guests, along with a myriad of teas, coffees and biscuits to enjoy. Additionally, each apartment and kitchen is equipped to make our guests feel as if you never left home, as you can find almost anything you might possibly want or need, adding to the comfort of your stay.

A visit to Vavla means an opportunity to reconnect with nature, family, and oneself. A chance to explore centuries of culture and tradition. A chance to walk/hike through the countryside and discover the wonderful nature, flora and fauna in the area. A chance to experience the ancient tradition of wine-making and what it takes to tend the orchards and create the nectar of the gods. A chance to see the local honeybees at work, and learn how these magnificent little creatures help to preserve life as we know it - and then to taste the deliciously sweet product of their lifes work. A chance to pick your own fruit straight off of the tree, from oranges, tangerines, lemons and figs, to joining in the olive harvest and relishing the taste of the freshly pressed olive oil. A chance to explore and enjoy, and just be yourself.
